WOW!

I cannot begin to say how much I was disappointed in this movie. This 2015 remake  tries to pay homage to the 1982 classic while introducing minor plot twists in an effort to be original. Coming in 20 minutes shorter than the original, the plot feels strained and the characters are sadly under developed. In some scenes, it feels as though the actors are just going through the motions, as if to say, “We all know what this scene is supposed to be, let’s just get through it.”  There was no buildup for any scene, no tension.

As far as the special effects, there were a few scenes that were…neat. Overall, the effects were just meh.

So, if you still want to watch this version, do yourself a favor and make sure you have the original Poltergeist ready to go afterwards. You’ll need something to wash this movie out of your mouth.

Stupid use of a clown, too.
